A multi-layered live music, looping and dj set, traversing multiple continents and genres, held together by an array of percussive rhythms that permeate the terrain. BornOfTheMist (aka Tim Firkin) will be joined by a number of local and talented musicians to weave an ever evolving soundscape that includes inspirational tracks, live looping, percussion instruments, vocals and spoken word poetry.
BornOfTheMist is a live looping artist and DJ who draws inspiration from the shamanic element of curating extended sets of music imbued with intention. The emotional landscape traversed together... the journey and emergence into somewhere unexpected.
Tim is heavily influenced by the wild landscapes of Te Tau Ihu and the mauri (life force) that runs through this whenua.
