Timothy Firkin aka BornOfTheMist is a Māori multi-instrumentalist hailing from Mohua, Golden Bay who is ignited by the endless possibilities of co-creation. His sound is a reflection of his environment and deep love for the mauri that flows through the whenua and wai of this bio region. His offerings are also deeply interwoven with his environmentalism mahi; a form of rhythmic rebellion that seeks to reconnect the listener with the heartbeat of Papatūānuku.
In this particular offering he will be weaving a hybrid multi-layered live music / electronic set alongside a few key local legends who will add there musical wizardry to the mix. After soaring through the heights of movement and electronic sound, the journey will soften into an intimate hand pan concert, gently bringing us down into a lush, resonant soundscape to close an evening of otherworldly sonic exploration.
