Teentheatre Presents: Taming of the Shrew & Hamlette! (Two abridged Shakespeare Comedies)

Teentheatre is a group of 15 teenagers, many of whom have been learning and performing with Ronnie Short for ten years, others for just five.

Having started experiential drama learning from 5-8 years old, the core group have performed a variety of genre over the past decade. Beginning with pop-up poems at local venues such as the Mussel Inn, the Playhouse and local halls they have advanced to productions ranging from classics such as Alice Through the Looking Glass, musicals like The Little Mermaid, Greek tragedies ‘Antigone’ and comedies ‘Mythunderstood’ plus Shakespeare’s Midsummer Nights Dream and many New Zealand plays.

Feedback from audience is always “Wow, soooo good”, “What talent”, and more recently, “So unexpected. I didn’t have very high expectations, but wow, I am very impressed with the high standard and command of the stage from these Teenz.”
