The Great Golden Bay Art Auction

Do you have art you no longer resonate with? Does your art collection need a spring clean? As an artist do you have works you would like to see in a new home? The Great Golden Bay Art Auction is an opportunity for local artists and art collectors to move on some of their art and auction participants the potential of buying quality art for a bargain!

Venue: Mussel Inn, Onekaka

Date: Sunday 28th January 2024

BUY TICKET allows you to preregister your artworks for this event to guarantee a place in the auction! ...and its FREE to do so!

Registration also available on the day - spaces are limited!

Art Drop Off: Between 3 - 5pm

Auction Starts: 6pm

Preference given to Golden Bay Artists but also open to art in good condition that people want to move on.

Size limit: If you can carry it in we can auction it!

Number of works: Maximum of three pieces of art per person (number will be reduced if a large number of artworks are submitted for auction)

Auction Curator: James Alker (self confessed art fanatic)

Auctioneers: James Alker and Billy Kerrisk (Ray White Reality)

Commission: The event will take a 20% commission on all sales. 10% goes to the Golden Bay Summer Arts Festival to support the event happening in 2025 and 10% goes to the Village Theatre Charitable Trust.

Entertainment: DJ Outer Orbit

    "Outer Orbit has been DJing since 2002, starting in Cardiff UK, then Cornwall and finally Bristol, where he was involved in the city's famous soundsystem culture. He's been on the lineup at festivals across the UK and Europe such as Glastonbury, Love Saves the Day, Tropical Pressure and Meadows in the Mountains. Since moving to Golden Bay he's been a regular at Tempo Schmempo and Delusional Disco Drongo nights, as well as Twisted Frequency and Relish festivals. He's got an eclectic style and loves warm, soulful sounds that are soothing on the ears but get your feet and body moving. At this event, expect to hear an all-vinyl set of uplifting funk, soul, jazz, Latin and African and Carribbean music."
